These trips are ideal for Schools, Colleges, Universities, Prince’s Trust, National Citizen Service, Youth Groups/Teams, Football/Rugby Academies & Apprentices
  • At Open Door Adventure we believe that the outdoors should be utilised to involve, inspire and create memories for children and young people to inspire them for the future. Our programmes are engaging, wide ranging and authentic. Through experiential learning, the outdoor activities we offer provide hands-on personal development.
  • Our focus is on individual development to build a personal connection with the outdoors whilst learning the importance of teamwork, communication, stretching boundaries, discovering hidden abilities, challenging self to do something one would never have dreamed they could do, but equally, learning to how develop resilience and fortitude.
  • We believe Life Skills are as important as education and our core principles are Trust, Respect, Honesty, Courage and Integrity. These principal skills learned are vital to promote Leadership and Team Development in all young people.

Youth Groups & Residentials

At Open Door Adventure North Wales

Our residential programmes have been designed for schools, youth groups and further education students to try out our facilities, outdoor pursuits and team building programmes. We work with the most notable and distinguished providers of Youth Vocational Training and have recently become an Approved Provider to the NCS/Invasion New Contract for 2020 after previously enjoying 5 years working directly with delivery partner Warrington Youth Service. We hold the Gold Award Approved Activity Provider Licence from the Duke of Edinburgh for Expedition & Expedition Training and we have a contract with Prince’s Trust through Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service.

You will have the option of staying in either Dolben Hall which is a former mansion house that has dormitory sleeping facilities for up to 54 people, or in our Bell Tent Village.

We are also happy to provide our centre and facilities as a base for groups to carry out extra-curriculum learning. For example Sports Science, Geography, Science, Public Services, Business Studies, Hotel & Catering, Duke of Edinburgh, Football, Rugby Academies, Scouts, Girl Guides, Army Cadets, Youth Groups.

Participating in the right outdoor leadership development and team building programme creates a strong sense of accomplishment and builds confidence through placing people outside of their comfort zone in a positive open and safe space for learning.

Our activities and programmes provide the appropriate level of physical and brain-engaging challenge.

Individuals will be able to assess their leadership skills, see immediate benefits, reassess prior beliefs about their capabilities and development in real time.
